About Me:
Hi! My name is Jenna Meisinger and I am from Naperville, Illinois. Currently I am a junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studying Organizational Psychology with a minor in Business. After graduating college in May of 2027, I hope to pursue a career in Human Resources specializing in talent management or pursue a Master's degree through UIUC.
Why the Leadership Certificate Program?
After completing a Leadership Lab for a James Scholar requirement I was interested to see what other programs the ILC offered. When I heard about this certificate program I was excited to join to be able to learn more about how to develop my leadership skills specifically within professional environments. I have always viewed myself as a leader and have been put in leadership positions so this opportunity felt right to strengthen my abilities and goals!
Moments of Leadership Through the Years:
Personal Development Plan
My Personal Development Plan (PDP) will outline the beginning of my journey through the certificate program. It will highlight areas that I wanted to focus on throughout the course of the program.
Leadership Labs
The ILC offers many leadership labs which allow participants to go further in depth on specific leadership competencies. I attended and completed 2 labs: Creative Problem Solving and Leading with Integrity.
Coursework
The course I took that I believe relates to leadership is CMN 101 which is an interactive public speaking course. I took this class my freshman year and gained lots of insight throughout the semester
Workshops
I attended four workshops at the ILC which are hour long sessions dedicated to specific leadership topics. These sessions are very interactive with your peers and allow participants a chance to critically understand important topics.
Leadership Experience
My leadership experience has been through a non-profit RSO called IlliniThon. Within IlliniThon I have served as the Corporate Relations chair as well as the External Vice President from 2025-2026.
Reflection
This section is an area to reflect on my time and experiences throughout this program. I will reflect on my growth and progress from all of the events and experiences I have gained.
